About Charity League, Inc.
Charity League is a non-profit organization compromised of 40 women who annually raise funds for charitable projects in Corpus Christi, Texas and the broader Coastal Bend area.
Each year, through a detailed selection process, a different charity is chosen and members spend many months raising funds and awareness for the selected charity.
Charity League was organized in 1934 by a group of fourteen women dedicated to improving the quality of life for citizens in our community. Funds were raised by hosting tea parties, treasure hunts, dances at the Nueces Hotel, as well as the annual fashion show. Monies raised were used to purchase milk and cookies for underprivileged children and provide numerous other gifts that benefited the community. They established the Charity League Milk Fund as a means of dispersing aid to the community.
Over time the fundraising efforts have expanded and the group has grown to include 40 women. Charity League has stayed true to the ideals it was founded on and continues to work on a shoestring budget. Their primary focus remains constant over the last 85+ years; working to improve the quality of life for the citizens of our community.
The annual fundraising efforts culminate at the Charity League Style Show & Luncheon.
One-hundred percent of every dollar raised is donated to the chosen organization.
Thanks to the support of foundations, business, and individual donors, Charity League has raised over 5.5 million dollars for organizations in the Coastal Bend.
